Edward Appleton is a painter and printmaker whose work is inspired by a love of nature, a fascination with the natural world and the art of painting. Born in Dublin, he first began painting as an extrovert child. He studied Art at the National College of Art and Design from which he graduated in 1993. In 1995 he received a scholarship to study Printmaking at the Royal Irish Academy of Art, where his work was exhibited annually from 1996 to 1999
In 1999 he took up residence in Northern Ireland, where he currently lives and works.
